Bhubaneswar, Dec 6 (Reporterspen): The Odisha government has initiated an extensive review process for a massive number of new applications submitted under the Subhadra Yojana, a flagship scheme aimed at providing financial assistance to women. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed the State Assembly that a total of 6,23,555 fresh applications are currently pending approval, highlighting the overwhelming response to the initiative.

According to officials, the applications are now undergoing multi-level scrutiny to ensure transparency and accuracy. Verification teams are examining documents, cross-checking eligibility details, and coordinating with district administrations to confirm the authenticity of each applicant’s information. This rigorous process, the government stated, is essential to ensure that benefits are not misused and reach only the deserving women.

The pending applications include those filed by women who recently turned 21, as well as those who were unable to register during previous phases of the scheme. Once the verification is completed, the government plans to disburse the financial assistance in a consolidated manner. Eligible beneficiaries will receive all three instalments of the Subhadra Yojana together, likely by March 2026. The government has assured that efforts are underway to expedite the process while maintaining strict checks.
