New Delhi, August 8: Odisha has received investment proposals worth ₹66,392 crore, with the potential to create more than 54,000 employment opportunities, during a two-day investor outreach programme held in Delhi-NCR.
The investment campaign saw the signing of 38 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), bringing investment proposals worth ₹64,703 crore and generating an estimated 46,071 employment opportunities. In addition, investment intents worth ₹1,689 crore were received, with the potential to create another 8,064 jobs.
The outreach programme focused on strengthening investment opportunities in key sectors including manufacturing, textiles and apparel, engineering, aluminium and food processing.
Focus on Manufacturing and Sectoral Opportunities
Addressing the investor gathering, the Chief Minister said Odisha is working to create an industrial ecosystem where businesses can grow, generate employment and contribute to value addition across different sectors of the state.
“Our objective is not merely to attract investments, but also to create jobs, strengthen local supply chains and open up new opportunities for the youth of Odisha,” the Chief Minister said.
He added that the state wants investors to view Odisha as a long-term partner for growth and industrial development.
An engineering goods manufacturing roundtable, organised in association with the Indian Industries Association, discussed opportunities related to manufacturing, industrial infrastructure, ancillary industries, supply-chain integration and the development of supporting industries in Odisha.
Textile and Apparel Sector Gets Special Focus
A separate roundtable with representatives of the Noida industrial sector, organised in association with the Noida Apparel Export Cluster, focused on opportunities in textile and apparel manufacturing.
Discussions covered textile and garment production, export opportunities, skilled manpower and employment generation. The state highlighted its potential to develop a stronger textile ecosystem and attract investment in labour-intensive industries.
Aluminium Downstream Industry
An Aluminium Ancillary and Downstream Roundtable, organised in association with NALCO, explored opportunities for expanding aluminium value addition, downstream manufacturing and ancillary industries in Odisha.
The discussions also focused on increasing the participation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the aluminium value chain.
Industry Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said the government’s priority is to facilitate investors, strengthen sector-specific value chains and create more employment opportunities for the people of Odisha.
46 High-Level Meetings and 208 Industry Interactions
The two-day investment campaign in Delhi-NCR included the Odisha Food Pro 2026 Roadshow, along with 46 high-level meetings and a total of 208 interactions with industry representatives across key sectors.
On Saturday, the Chief Minister held several one-on-one meetings with prominent investors and industry representatives from different sectors to discuss investment opportunities and the state’s industrial potential.
Chief Minister Visits Haier Manufacturing Facility
As part of the outreach programme, the Chief Minister also visited the Haier manufacturing facility in Noida.
During the visit, he interacted with senior company officials and engineers and reviewed the company’s manufacturing processes and systems.
The visit provided an opportunity to understand Haier’s advanced manufacturing practices and explore potential opportunities to strengthen Odisha’s manufacturing ecosystem, particularly in areas such as electronics, home appliances, supply chains and ancillary industries.
The state government is seeking to convert these potential investment opportunities into concrete projects, further strengthening Odisha’s industrial base and creating new employment opportunities for its people.
