odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 20: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted chilly weather to persist in Odisha for the next two days, with temperatures expected to rise gradually by 2-4°C afterward.
G Udayagiri remained the coldest place in the state over the past 24 hours, recording 4°C, followed by Semiliguda (4.9°C), Phulbani (7°C), Rourkela (7.2°C), and Jharsuguda (7.7°C). Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded night temperatures of 13.2°C and 13.5°C, respectively, slightly lower than the previous night.
The IMD has also issued a dense fog warning for the state. Fog is likely to engulf parts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, and Kandhamal until January 22 morning. Additional warnings extend to Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati districts in the following 24 hours.
Shallow to moderate fog is also expected in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Koraput, and Malkangiri. These conditions may impact visibility during early morning hours in multiple regions through January 23.
