weather news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 27: After a slight dip in the night temperatures over the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature in Odisha is expected to rise again by 2-3°C after the next three days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD’s midday bulletin informed that there will be no significant change in the night temperature over the next three days, but a rise of 2 to 3°C is likely in the following two days across the state.
Several places in Odisha have experienced a drop in temperature, with cold and dry air sweeping through the region. G. Udayagiri, a hill station in Kandhamal, recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 6.4°C, down from 8.4°C the previous day. Rourkela and Jharsuguda saw temperatures fall to 8°C, compared to 11.4°C and 11.2°C, respectively, the previous day. Keonjhar recorded a significant drop of 4.9°C, with a minimum temperature of 11.2°C, while Sambalpur saw a dip of 3.7°C, with a minimum of 13.3°C.
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also saw a drop, recording 18.6°C and 17°C respectively, almost 2°C lower than the previous day. These temperatures were still notably higher than normal, with Sunday’s readings showing an anomaly of nearly 4.5°C above the usual temperatures.
