Dubai/Bhubaneswar (Reporterspen): Odisha has concluded its three-day investment outreach programme in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), strengthening the state’s efforts to attract global capital, technology, manufacturing partnerships and access to international markets. The investment drive resulted in proposed investments worth ₹2,43,162 crore, with the potential to generate around 6,18,725 employment opportunities.

Led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the three-day programme in Abu Dhabi and Dubai included 52 one-on-one investor meetings and roundtable discussions, following which 16 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Investment Intention Forms (IIFs) were signed.

The programme brought together UAE-based investors, global business leaders, sovereign and institutional partners, Indian diplomatic representatives and members of the Odia diaspora.

Odisha Investment Summit – UAE 2026

The concluding day focused on the Odisha Investment Summit – UAE 2026 in Dubai, which was attended by around 400 business leaders, investors and members of the UAE business community.

The summit provided Odisha with a direct platform to showcase investment opportunities and encourage global businesses to establish or expand their presence in the state.

Investment discussions covered a wide range of sectors, including tourism, logistics, financial investments, LNG storage, green energy, AI and data centres, rare earths, ship repair, propellant manufacturing, fertilisers and chemicals, housing, steel and downstream industries.

Apart from the traditional mining and minerals sector, processed food emerged as another major area of potential investment.

MoUs and Investment Proposals Across Key Sectors

CAZBAA Project Ventures FZCO signed an MoU for LNG storage, while Rana Holdings Limited signed an MoU covering green energy, AI data centres and rare earths.

Sharaf Group signed an MoU in the residential housing sector, while PTCL Infrastructure entered into an agreement relating to steel and steel downstream industries.

Investment proposals were also received from Dalwin Marine and Turbo Power Engineering for ship repair, Ion Technologies Private Limited for a propellant manufacturing plant, and Agrifields FZCO for fertiliser and chemical projects.

Strategic Partnerships

The UAE visit began in Abu Dhabi with high-level discussions involving government, sovereign, institutional and business stakeholders.

One of the major highlights was a strategic engagement involving International Holding Company (IHC) and Adani Group, covering critical minerals and rare earths, metals and metallurgy, chemicals and petrochemicals, renewable energy equipment, healthcare, industrial infrastructure, tourism, skill development and other strategic sectors.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi also held high-level discussions with UAE leadership and industry representatives. He visited Emirates Global Aluminium, where discussions focused on advanced aluminium manufacturing, technology and value-addition opportunities relevant to Odisha’s downstream industrial ecosystem.

Focus on Long-Term Partnership

Chief Minister Majhi emphasised that Odisha’s partnership with the UAE goes beyond individual investments. The state aims to build long-term collaborations in manufacturing, trade, technology, exports, innovation, skill development and entrepreneurship.

He invited UAE-based businesses to consider Odisha as a preferred destination for their next phase of growth in India.

Industry Minister Sampad Chandra Swain reiterated the state government’s commitment to speed, certainty and execution. He assured investors of active facilitation and institutional support throughout the project cycle—from investment proposals and approvals to implementation and expansion.

Engagement with Odia Diaspora

The Dubai programme also included an interaction between the Chief Minister and members of the Odia diaspora. The gathering aimed to strengthen cultural, social and economic ties with Odias living in the UAE and encourage them to contribute to Odisha’s investment, entrepreneurship, trade and development journey.

With the UAE investment outreach generating proposals worth ₹2.43 lakh crore and the potential for over 6.18 lakh jobs, the state government is looking to translate these commitments into concrete projects and strengthen Odisha’s position as a major investment destination in India.
