political news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 28:: Prohibitory orders were imposed in the Aul area of Odisha’s Kendrapada district following a clash between workers of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) over the erection of a decorative gate for New Year celebrations.

According to initial reports, the conflict began when BJP workers attempted to set up a gate at Durga Mandap Square in Aul, which faced strong opposition from BJD supporters who claimed they had been responsible for such arrangements in previous years.

As tensions escalated between the two groups, the district administration stepped in and imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) in the area surrounding Durga Mandap Square and Aul Bazar to prevent further unrest. The orders will remain in effect until further notice, and gatherings in the area have been banned.

Police intervened to manage the situation, and both BJP and BJD members were summoned to the local police station in an attempt to mediate the dispute. However, both parties remained determined to proceed with their plans for the gate.
