odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 11: In a tragic incident, a man allegedly killed his wife with a sharp weapon in MV-66 village under the jurisdiction of Kalimela police station, located in Odisha’s Malkangiri district. The shocking crime occurred late on Friday night and came to light after the accused surrendered to the police on Saturday morning.
The accused, identified as Niten Biswas, worked as a sugarcane juice seller near a school in Block Colony, Kalimela market. According to preliminary investigations, a heated family dispute escalated, leading to Niten slitting his wife’s throat in a fit of rage, killing her instantly.
Following the incident, Niten walked into the police station and confessed to the crime. Law enforcement officers arrested him and began an interrogation to uncover further details.
A case has been registered, and the police are investigating the exact circumstances that led to the murder. The victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Local residents have expressed shock and sorrow over the incident, highlighting the growing concerns about domestic violence in the region.
