odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 11: At least four people were seriously injured in a violent clash between two groups at Bhagipur village in the Banki area of Cuttack district, Odisha, on Saturday.

The altercation reportedly began as a heated argument between two groups from different localities in Bhagipur. Within minutes, the situation escalated into violence, with both sides pelting stones, glass bottles, and wooden sticks. The clash also injured several passersby, spreading tension across the area.

According to sources, the dispute may have originated from an incident on Friday evening, when a group of youths allegedly hurled stones at vehicles on the Cuttack-Banki Road, demanding toll money. The incident caused arguments and chaos, with passersby confronting the youths.

On Saturday morning, village elders attempted to resolve the issue by urging the accused group to stop their unruly behavior. However, a verbal altercation ensued, which quickly spiraled into a full-blown clash.

Police rushed to the scene and have launched an investigation into the incident. Security has been tightened in the area to prevent further escalation.
