Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 6: Odisha has been enduring intense cold for the past five days, but a gradual rise in night temperatures is expected over the coming days. The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has indicated that while the mercury shows signs of increasing, there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures for the next four days. Following that period, night temperatures are projected to rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
Dense to very dense fog is likely to blanket various parts of the state over the next two days, particularly affecting the districts of Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Koraput. A yellow warning has been issued for these areas. Additionally, shallow to moderate fog may occur in Khurda, Angul, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Keonjhar, and Malkangiri.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, dense fog is anticipated again in the same districts. Despite the cold conditions, dry weather is expected to prevail across Odisha in the coming days. On Monday morning, major stretches of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack were shrouded in thick fog, reducing visibility to nearly 50 meters.
