OPSC: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 6: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced the tentative date for the 2023 Civil Services Preliminary Examination. The exam is now scheduled to take place on December 15, 2024, subject to confirmation.
According to the OPSC notification, “The Commission has decided to conduct the Odisha Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination-2023, pursuant to Advt. No. 20 of 2023-24, tentatively on 15.12.2024 (Sunday). A detailed schedule for the examination will be released later.”
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official OPSC website (www.opsc.gov.in) for further updates.
This announcement comes after the examination, originally set for October 27, was postponed due to Cyclone Dana, which impacted the Odisha coast on October 25. Admit cards for the exam were issued earlier that week.
The competitive recruitment exam will be held for 399 posts, including positions in the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS), Odisha Finance Service (OFS), Odisha Police Service (OPS), and Odisha Revenue Service (ORS). The exam will be conducted in two stages: an objective-type Preliminary exam, followed by the Main examination. Candidates who qualify the Preliminary exam will move on to the Main exam, and based on their performance, they will be shortlisted for a personal interview.
