Income Tax raid: Bhubaneswar,(Reporterspen), Jan 20: Income Tax (I-T) officials continued their raids for the fourth consecutive day on Monday at properties linked to Braja Kishore Das, a prominent contractor and brother of former Health Minister Naba Kishore Das. The raids are being conducted at multiple locations across Odisha.

Sources indicate that around 44 properties are under scrutiny, including Braja’s residence in Dhankauda, Sambalpur. Other locations being searched include Jharsuguda, Balangir, Bargarh, and Bhubaneswar. The operation, which began on Friday, involves 20 joint teams from Bhubaneswar and Chhattisgarh operating under tight security.

Braja, who owns businesses in construction, transport, mining, and stone quarries, had previously come under the I-T scanner in 2017 during demonetization. Senior officials from New Delhi, supported by teams from Rourkela, Bhubaneswar, and Sambalpur, had conducted similar raids on his properties at that time.

The ongoing investigation coincides with recent controversies involving Naba Das’ son, Bishal Das, who was detained in Chhattisgarh amid political tensions. The exact details of the current raids remain undisclosed.
