Odisha News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 24: The Commissionerate Police plans to approach the court to seek an additional five-day remand for high-profile conwoman Hansita Abhilipsa and her aide Anil Mohanty, who are currently in jail for allegedly defrauding wealthy businessmen and mine operators in Odisha. According to sources, the police will file the remand application in the JMFC court in Bhubaneswar to delve deeper into their criminal activities.
Investigations by the Special Crime Unit have revealed Hansita’s alleged involvement in a sex racket and human trafficking. The duo was previously taken on remand, during which crucial information was uncovered. Police aim to gather more details regarding their involvement in trafficking, informed Twin City Police Commissioner S. Debadatta Singh.
Hansita and Anil were arrested on December 31 for impersonating the daughter and son-in-law of PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to defraud influential individuals. They are now accused of trafficking girls, including Russians, to influential persons, businessmen, and politicians to facilitate business deals or gain political leverage. Investigators recovered obscene photos, videos, and incriminating WhatsApp chats from Hansita’s devices, indicating a wider trafficking network.
