Odisha Police: Rising temperatures and dense fog likely to affect Odisha over the weekend

Odisha Police: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 24: Odisha is set to experience dense fog in several regions over the next two days, even as temperatures continue to rise steadily, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated on Friday. Both night and day temperatures are expected to increase further during this period.

In its weather bulletin, the IMD’s Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre issued a yellow warning for dense fog across Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Khurda, and Cuttack on Friday night and Saturday morning. Similar warnings were issued for Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Angul, and Koraput for Saturday night and Sunday morning. Additionally, dense fog is likely to cover Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Sundargarh on Sunday night and Monday morning.

On Friday morning, dense fog blanketed several districts, including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Cuttack, significantly reducing visibility and causing difficulties for commuters. Vehicular movement slowed down as drivers exercised caution.

The IMD also forecasted a rise in minimum temperatures by 2-3°C in the next two days, with no major changes expected afterward.
