odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 26: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the night temperature in Odisha is expected to drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius after two more days of rainfall activity. In its midday bulletin on Thursday, the IMD stated that there would be no significant change in minimum temperatures over the next 48 hours, but a decline is anticipated in the following three days across the state.

Bhubaneswar and Cuttack could experience night temperatures dipping below 15 degrees Celsius by December 30, potentially reaching as low as 13 degrees Celsius by New Year’s Eve. Recently, these cities recorded temperatures of 18.4 degrees Celsius and 16.6 degrees Celsius, respectively, while Koraput was the coldest at 12.4 degrees Celsius.

Following heavy rainfall in several districts, the state is expected to see a gradual reduction in rainfall intensity over the next two days, as the weather system in the Southwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal weakens into a low-pressure area. Light to moderate rain may persist in several districts, including Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, and others, while shallow to moderate fog could form in Keonjhar. Light rain is also forecasted for Friday in select areas. Afterward, dry weather is expected to prevail.
