Odisha News: Odisha’s infrastructure and skilled workforce shine at Singapore’s business opportunities session

Odisha News: Bhubaneswar,(Reporterspen),  Nov 19: The third day of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s visit to Singapore was marked by a high-profile Interactive Session on Business Opportunities in Odisha. The session, which attracted global investors and industry leaders from across the ASEAN region, served as a platform for Odisha to showcase its investment potential and position itself as a key driver of India’s growth.

The Odisha delegation highlighted the state’s rich natural resources, world-class infrastructure, and skilled workforce, emphasizing its readiness to lead the nation’s economic story. The enthusiastic participation of industry representatives from Singapore and neighboring countries reflects growing interest in Odisha’s emerging opportunities.

During the day, Chief Minister Majhi and Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain held high-level Government-to-Government (G2G) discussions with CHEE Hong Tat, Minister of Transport, Government of Singapore. The talks focused on Odisha’s development of integrated multimodal logistics solutions, inspired by Singapore’s advanced transportation systems, as well as digital freight management and coastal shipping.

The delegation also visited the Institute of Technical Education and Education Services (ITEES), strengthening Odisha’s skill development initiatives. Through collaborations like the World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar, Odisha has positioned itself as India’s Skill Capital, and the visit is set to deepen this partnership with world-class institutions.

A roundtable meeting organized by Enterprise Singapore and FICCI explored opportunities in key sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, and IT. Prominent companies such as Agrocorp International, Aurionpro Payment Solutions, and Evervolt Green Energy engaged in discussions aimed at bringing more investments to Odisha. One-on-one meetings were held with global leaders, including Linde, Vena Energy, and CapitalLand, to discuss investment opportunities in sectors like chemicals, IT, textiles, and more.

The delegation also visited the Port of Singapore Authority to study best practices in port operations, aiming to enhance Odisha’s port infrastructure and promote port-led economic growth.

The day’s highlight was the investor roadshow, attended by over 300 delegates, where Chief Minister Majhi emphasized Odisha’s investment-friendly environment. He invited industry leaders to join the upcoming ‘Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’, underscoring the state’s readiness to lead India’s growth trajectory.
