Sex racket: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 28: The Commissionerate Police on Thursday dismantled a sex racket operating from a house near the Khandagiri area in Bhubaneswar and rescued four girls who were allegedly trafficked and forced into the trade. The house has been sealed, and investigations are underway.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the premises and rescued the victims, all natives of Odisha. “We have started an investigation, and the rescued girls are being questioned,” said a police officer, adding that the house owner will also be interrogated.

Sources revealed that a woman from Nayagarh had trafficked the girls and compelled them into the illegal activity.
This incident follows another major crackdown two days earlier, where a 36-year-old was arrested for running a sex racket involving Bangladeshi victims. Victims were lured with false promises of daily wages but forced into prostitution. Police discovered agents used platforms like WhatsApp for trafficking operations, sharing victims’ photos and arranging transactions.
