Bank robbery: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Feb 20: A daring bank robbery took place at the State Bank of India (SBI) Bahalda branch in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Thursday, with miscreants looting Rs 30 lakh. Two bank employees sustained injuries while trying to resist the robbers.

According to reports, a group of five masked men entered the bank shortly after it opened in the morning, posing as customers. While three of them stormed into the bank, the other two stood guard outside. Once inside, they brandished firearms, terrorizing employees and customers before forcibly taking the cash.

During the robbery, the bank manager and another staff member attempted to resist, prompting the criminals to assault them before fleeing the scene on two motorcycles. Witnesses reported that the robbers were communicating in Hindi, suggesting they might be from outside the region.

Upon receiving information, Bahalda Police, along with Rairangpur Additional SP and SDPO, arrived at the spot and launched an investigation. The injured employees have been admitted to the hospital. Meanwhile, concerns have been raised about why the bank opened before security guards arrived, leaving the premises vulnerable to the attack.
