Odisha news: Western disturbance to bring rain, dense fog to Odisha over the weekend

Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 27: A western disturbance is expected to impact Odisha starting Saturday, bringing light rain and foggy conditions over the weekend, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Several northern states, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, are already experiencing rainfall, thundershowers, gusty winds, and hail due to the system. The Western Himalayan region is forecasted to receive widespread rain and snowfall between December 27 and 28.

In Odisha, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for dense fog in parts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, and Nabarangpur until the morning of December 28. Shallow to moderate fog may also occur in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Keonjhar districts.

On December 28, light rain is predicted in Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Sonepur. Rainfall may persist in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi for the next 24 hours.

Following the system, night temperatures are expected to drop by 2°C–4°C, with dry weather prevailing across Odisha thereafter. Residents are advised to prepare for changing weather conditions.
